Writing for Social Change with Kim Suhr

Our lives begin to end
the day we become silent
about things that matter.
~Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

9:30 – 11:00 am (CT)

Maybe you have strong opinions about how the world should be. Maybe you aren’t quite sure but believe that silence is not an option. Maybe you want to give voice to the voiceless. Maybe it’s time you were heard.

In this workshop, we’ll look at examples of writing that has contributed to a shift in people’s attitudes and behaviors. We’ll discuss building credibility, crafting a compelling narrative, and connecting with readers in a meaningful way to foster the type of world you’d like to live in.

This workshop is not intended to support one political perspective or cause over others, and differing viewpoints will be respected.
