Writing Your College Application Essay (Online Class)

GPA’s, AP’s, ACT’s & SAT’s: this is the alphabet soup that will help you get into the college of your dreams, but what about that personal essay? Even the strongest of writers can get hung up on what to write about and how to approach this part of the application.

This online class will take students from idea generation to first draft. Included in the fee is individualized feedback on one essay (up to 650 words or about 2.5 pages double-spaced, 12-pt font).

Fee: $50 (includes 5 online modules and 1 essay critique)

Dates: The class may begin at any time. Students will have access to the online resources for 4 weeks. The essay must be submitted (as a Word Doc or via Googledocs) by the end of the 4th week.                                               No extensions!  Subsequent essays may be submitted at a discounted rate.

*The class uses the Haiku Learning platform. Here is a link to their browser requirements. You will also need an up-to-date version of Flashplayer or the equivalent to listen to the podcasts. The platform is straightforward and should be accessible for most every student.
